Our MISSION
The Louisiana Chapter of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (LA-ASMBS) is committed to improving the surgical care and outcomes of patients with obesity across Louisiana. By fostering a collaborative network of metabolic and bariatric surgeons and allied healthcare professionals, LA-ASMBS works to advance patient care through advocacy, education, and public awareness initiatives.

Access to Care: Actively engage in legislative efforts to improve policies impacting access to care for bariatric patients in Louisiana.

Education: Facilitate the exchange of knowledge, best practices, and innovative treatments through annual meetings, educational events, and research collaborations.

Community Outreach: Organize and sponsor public events to raise awareness of obesity and its related health challenges, while promoting available treatment options.
